A Busy Season - Nature Journaling Workshop Cancelled.

Welcome Autumn! I'm busy as heck!
Welcome, Autumn!

I'm currently in incredibly busy season of my life. Between supporting a hospitalized loved one, my own health issues, my kids, maintaining relationships, my garden, my business, drinking enough water, social obligations.... It's been a lot! I truly believe that my commitment to journaling and my rituals keep me anchored and keep me going. My daily Tulsi tinctures don't hurt either!

From the song Bloom on Doechii's a GRAMMY AWARD WINNING album, Alligator Bites Never Heal:

I'm constantly trying to remember, like, okay:
"You have to chase your goals, but you gotta check in with your mom and you gotta make sure your sisters are okay"
"You gotta make sure your bills are paid, but you gotta make sure you have fun and time for you, time for your friends"
And like, I just constantly feel like I'm neglecting parts of my life

As with all seasons, this is temporary. The wheel turns, what goes up comes down, and all things constantly change. The interesting thing though is that while things change they also stay the same. I recently came across my journal from 20 years ago and it's funny how so many of the same themes are repeated even now. At 21 and 41 I'm still me.

The garden of course does not care that I am busy and is still pumping out veggies like gangbusters. This has been by far my most productive gardening year. Green beans, long beans, tomatoes, Mammoth cucumbers... The garden is happy and thriving even though I still cannot grow watermelons. Maryland weather is so unpredictable but I should still have a few more months of growing, harvesting, and putting up for the winter. With the tariffs and deportation of our neighbors and farm workers, I expect food prices to rise in the winter and I want to be prepared.

All of this to say, I'm busy. I'm overwhelmed. I'm paring down. Because of that, I am cancelling this month's Nature Journaling Workshop at Wild Ginger. If you have already registered you have been refunded and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. The Pawpaw Plant Walk scheduled for this Sunday will go on as planned - being in the woods brings me so much peace! Hope to see you there or at the La Plata Farmers Market 9/20!
