Early Summer Plant Walk

Sun, Jul 12

|

Chapman State Park

Want to recognize more plants? We'll hike at my favorite state park and take a look at what's growing! We are surrounded by abundance, especially at this time of year. I don't promise to know everything going but we can discuss ways to ID things and ethical, smart foraging!

About the event

In addition to the above information, here's more stuff you should know:

This is a moderate hike and you should expect to be in the woods for about two-three hours in July. While it is not rain or shine, it will likely be HOT. Bring lots of water. I would also suggest a snack, closed toed and sturdy shoes.

The cost is a suggestion. If this presents a barrier at all, please let me know and it can be adjusted.

WEAR BUG SPRAY.

Cover yourself in protection against mosquitos and ticks. Concentrate on your ankles and exposed skin. Consider a handkerchief or gaiter to cover your face and neck. The buggies can get thick in places and you may want to even cover your mouth!

If you have time constraints, please let me know. I like plants and can get going and lose track of time!

This month's journaling prompt:

In what areas of your life are you seeing new growth? Are there any places that are stagnant or covered in a thick layer of ice that needs to be melted away?
