Love <3

I love love. I love being in love, I love loving on My People. I love seeing My People loving on their people. I'm just enamored with amore.

In addition to the romantic love I share with my partner, I am blessed to experience platonic love of friends. I feel our society places emphasis on obtaining romantic love as the end all be all purpose of life. However, I would be nothing and nowhere without the deep, heartfelt relationships I've cultivated with friends. It is invaluable to have people in your life that cheer for you, hurt with you, and see you for who you truly are - right to the soft belly of your insides.

As I'm typing this, I have Friendship by Tenacious D in my head. Friendship is rare (do you know what I'm saying to you?) but true friendship is invaluable. Deep friendships help us be better communicators, have more access to empathy, and build support systems that will carry our hearts through tough times. Friends give us other viewpoints through their lived experiences that can help us see everything through different eyes. The ability to exist and do things alone is important, but there's no doubt that doing life with people that love and value you and whose company you enjoy adds so much joy and laughter.

I'm incredibly blessed have the people in my life that I do.

This Valentine's Day, I encourage you to love on your people. If you don't have people, try to cultivate those relationships! Join social groups surrounding your hobbies, call someone you haven't spoken to in a bit and check in. Reach out to the people you care about and let them know that you love them and that they're important to you - they might not know!
