As the wheel turns, I'm starting to see signs of the end of Summer and Fall coming close. The flowers of Spring and Summer have turned to seeds and berries, the fish crows have returned to my neighborhood (I have plans. Oh, boy. Do I Have plans), and the first leaves are starting to change. I love Maryland for the gorgeous seasons and their reminder that what is new will be old, what dies will be reborn, and energy is never truly lost, but may change form. Summer may be my favorite season but Spring and Fall hold the most beauty. I'm not looking forward to Winter and cold weather and hibernation in the least but it helps me appreciate Summer all the more and I projects planned to keep me busy until I can go back outside again.

Just after the Fall Equinox I am hosting a Nature Journaling Workshop at Wild Ginger Community Herbal Center in Bryans Road. In this Workshop we will discuss ways of journaling, craft and bind our own seasonal nature journals, create a plan for regularly writing in this journal, and take time in nature and the beautiful surroundings of Wild Ginger to make our Fall entries.
Nature Journaling is a way to become a better naturalist and notice the small changes to the landscape around you. This workshop would be fantastic for anyone who wants to learn more about their surroundings, naturalists and outdoors enthusiasts, those looking to slow down and live more intentionally, journalers, and anyone who is looking for small, regular spaces for self care.
Wild Ginger is "a community rooted small family business" that provides many opportunities for herbalism and birthwork education. From free online programs, to herbalism intensives both here in MD and in their location in Costa Rica, they provide both a starting point and a well of deeper knowledge for those interested in living closer to the earth. I have spent time on the land and with the owner, Molly, and have always left filling energized and heart-full. Her offerings are full of vital land-based knowledge and learning is truly done in community.

The cost of this workshop is $10 with an additional $10 charge to cover the cost of materials. As I do not believe cost should be a barrier to education, free tickets are available if cost is a prohibiting factor.
Workshop is held Sunday, September 28 from 1pm to approximately 4 pm.
I look forward to sharing this experience and this land and knowledge with you!
