Tarot Card of the Week - Ace of Wands

Every week I pull a card of the week. I either pull from one of my own decks or from a deck online. I learn about the card, journal with it, and focus on how I can apply it to my life for that week. This helps me learn Tarot and gain intimate knowledge of each card. Every Friday, I'll share about the card here to reinforce that knowledge. Subscribe to follow along!

Deck - This week I pulled a card from Layrinthos.com. It's been a heckin heck of a week. Month. Year. Whatever, I just didn't have it in me to pull out a deck on Wednesday. I just couldn't do it. So I used the website. Labyrinthos has a few different divination methods available but I've only explored tarot. You can choose different decks and get card meanings and how they may show up in your readings. There's an app and learning paths too! This time I used the Golden Thread Tarot. Golden Thread is also available as a physical deck that is printed on recycled plastic and is matte with gold sparkly pretty.

The Rider-Waite Ace of Wands card shows a hand emerging from the clouds holding a wand aloft. The wand is sprouting branches - showing that growth is happening! Typically there is also a castle in the distance, indicating great things in the future. The wands are the suit of fire and are associated with strong will and creative spark. That fiery passion that gets you going about a project or a goal or a person - wink wink, nudge nudge.

This deck interprets it a bit differently. We see the wand and the branches, but no hand and no cloud and no castle. The wand has a ribbon across the front, as if it is being presented to you. A sun and a nice day are behind it, still indicating a sunny future.

The Ace of Wands is a get up and go card. A creative spark card. This card tells us that whatever creative plans we're making or whatever schemes we're dreaming up - now is the time to act. Get er done. Shit or get off the pot. This card also could also indicate one that is finding their voice or their "why" to keep at a creative project. The ace card of any suit typically represents beginnings, a passionate start.
