I'm pretty excited to share these workshops!!
I've led lots of workshops over the years on a variety of sustainability, gardening, and physiological parenting topics but they've always been attached to larger conferences. Chesapeake Herb Gathering, Rooting DC, and MommyCon and others have hosted my workshops and allowed me to travel but now I'm excited to speak some plant knowledge here at home.
I'll be hosting two workshops at the Bryans Road Firehouse July 19!
Session 1 -Planning Your Small Space Fall Garden

Want to grow your own food but don’t think you have the space? We’ll talk about how you can grow where you are - from your window to your front yard! We’ll also discuss containers, growing medium, sourcing materials, seed starting and more. You may think it's too late in the season to garden but now it's the perfect time to think about your Fall garden! We'll talk cool weather crops and season extenders too!!
Session 2 - Backyard Apothecary
1p-3p $30
Interested in herbalism but not sure where to start? We’re provided an abundance of healing around us, we just need to know where to look! We’ll discuss common healing wild herbs (aka weeds), veggies and spices you might have around, and what you can plant in your own healing garden. In addition, we’ll cover teas, infusions, and tinctures - and which plants benefit from which method!
In between, we’ll break for lunch. You’re welcome to run out to grab something; or you can bring your own and stay for the Q&A Lunch and Tea Sesh. Come prepared with your questions and your curiosity and we'll munch and sip. I can't promise to have all the answers, but I can point you in the right direction!
Each Session is $30 and will come with goodies to help the information sink in.
