Tarot Card of the Week - Ace of Swords with Journaling Prompts!

Every week I pull a card of the week. I either pull from one of my own decks or from a deck online. I learn about the card, journal with it, and focus on how I can apply it to my life for that week. This helps me learn Tarot and gain intimate knowledge of each card. Every Friday, I'll share about the card here to reinforce that knowledge and add journaling prompts to help us both dive deep. Subscribe to follow along!

Err...I've missed a few weeks posting them but I've still been pulling!! Here we go, let's get back in to it.

Drum Roll Please....This week's card is...

Ace of Swords card. A hand coming from the clouds holding a double edged sword with a crown atop. Mountains are in the background
Ace of Swords

Deck - This week I pulled from my Modern Witch Tarot Deck which features the traditional cards and suits but with modern themes. I adore this deck. It's one of my faves. While the cards are a little too big for my hands it is the one I find myself reaching for most often. Here's a few of my fave cards:

Card - This week's card is the Ace of Swords.

Ace of Swords from Modern Witch Tarot. Described in text.
It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!

The Ace of Swords in the Modern Witch Tarot depicts a brown skinned hand coming from the clouds, gripping a double edged sword. There are mountains and clouds in the background and leaves and smoke around the sword.

When first I saw this card, my first thought was the quote from the movie Sucker Punch, "You have all the weapons you need. Now fight!!"

The Ace of Swords offers us a sharp, double edged sword to cut through the bullshit. It tells us that there is a time for logic and quick thinking and that time is now. You are experiencing or have a need for clarity, a breakthrough, a new way of looking at things. This bullshit cutter-througher is double edged though. Meaning that this same mental sharpness can be used for good or for evil - to help or to harm.

As Uncle Ben said, "With great power comes great responsibility."

This card is full of pop culture references. When discussing this card with a friend, they suggested "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!" Which also, yup, fits right in here. We could all use a lil Ace of Swords in our decision making!

Journaling Prompts

Q - Where do you feel the Peter Parker Principle, "With great power comes great responsibility", is relevant in your life? Are you handling that power and responsibility well?

Q - What are your "weapons"? How do you cut through the BS to the heart of the matter? Do you feel you do so effectively?

Q - Who do you feel reflects Ace of Swords energy? Do you feel they wield the sworn well? The traditional Rider-Waite card has a crown on the sword. Do you feel they wear the crown well too?

Hopefully this marks a return to this practice. I like sharing prompts and feel it also helps me with my own knowledge.

Feel free to answer any of the prompts in the comments!!
